3) yes--it's our country and we need to take some responsibility for how it's run.
4) My guess--they think it doesn't matter.
5) should--anyone who's a citizen, pays taxes, should vote. should not--not citizens, here illegally, etc., don't need to make or affect decisions as to how the country's run.
2) I voted because I did not support the ideas of the other candidate and did not want America to go down the road he talked about. The candidate I voted for matched my values and I agreed with his policies.
3) It is important for Americans to vote but it also important that those who don't want to vote - don't. It is too easy for some to only give it about as much attention as picking a loaf of bread and it is much more than that.
4) They don't have the time to determine who the right person really is and as said above, they think it doesn't matter. Most people are busy with their life and just assume it will continue as it has before.
5) If you have demonstrated that you do not want to participate in the human race (felonies, etc). Illegal aliens, because they are here illegally. I am beginning to think there should be an IQ test before people vote. The problem though with any requirement for voting is that it is usually controlled by someone with an agenda.
2) It's my country and I am going to have a say in how it is run.
3) A republic can only work if the citizens take an active role in government and hold their representatives accountable for thier actions.
4) They don't feel their vote makes a difference either way.
5) Vote: Citizens that own property in the town/province in which they are voting.
No Vote: Illegal aliens, non-citizens, criminals, people who are not residents where they are voting.
Why: People voting should have a stake in what happens. Example: New Paltz New York has a 26 year old mayor voted in by the non resident college students who go to SUNY NP. This mayor has vaulted New Paltz into the headlines with a recent marriage issue and cost the citizens of the village thousands of dollars in legal fees, police overtime etc.
