Not related to this thread at all, but today I went to my first diesel drags at Pacific Raceways and saw a 2wd dodge pro truck do a 1/4 in 10.75 and 131 mph.
My There is a person on the forums with a 6.0 with edge juice and 4 inch exhaust that says in his sig that he calculated from an 1/8 th mile time that he would run 13's in the 1/4.
come on frost, you have been here long enough, dont believe everything you read.
from my calculations if the moon is in andramada and the 1/8 mile time is 6.25 sec and the orbital rotation of the sun is just right then i guy i know who has a brother that is really into diesel trucks says i can run an 11.4 sec 1/4 mile with no problem
i have a 7.3l with scmt and intake and exhaust and can run 10.40's in the 1/4!
I think there was a misprint there, it should have said 1/8 mile.
Boy, those dodge boys must be doing it all wrong, putting twin turbos, huge injectors and all the works just to get to low 12's high 11's. Should have gone with the 7.3l with just a SCMT, intake and exhaust, a lot cheaper and quicker. (sarcasm)

Well, I PM'd the guy so he should be over he as soon as he reads it. His name is 03250stroke. We shall see... I don't know, maybe he didn't, I'm just curious. Like I said, we shall see...
lol you guys are great,I am glad to see that I am not the only one that knows better.Keep the posts coming I do enjoy this site especially when the knowlegable guys ring in and I really do mean that no sarcasm just giving props.
No prob bldr! 8's with a chip and intake on 6.0???????? Holy smokes! How does he run 8's only doing 79mph? I watch 9 second rods run atleast 125mph in the 1/4

The eight second run is in the 1/8, sorry, I forgot to put what he run it in.
Hey frost I figured that was 8th mile no biggy man I was mainly showing skepticism about the 6.0 running 13s with chip and intake like I was saying my brohter is big into drag racing 7sec car 10sec car and a new 04 6.0 powerstroke with exhaust, edge, intake and he isn't getting 13s he is mid 14s with it and he knows how to drive so thats not the issue.
Well boys I am here and I can contest for the boys with the twins on the dodges, A friend has one and openly admits there is no way his truck will run with my truck at the drag strip. TO hand calculate take your 1/8 mile Et multiplied by 1.54 gives you your quarter times. There is no way your truck runs 6 in the 1/8 and you are only running low 13 in the quarter. My old mustang ran 7.90 in the 1/8 and ran 12.20 in the quarter. Oh yeah by te way I do not have 4 inch exhaust, I have aDPPI downpipe with the stock exhaust minus the muff and the kitty. My truck dynoed 398 hp and 758 ft/lbs of trq. You guys that live close to sea level should run better times than us up here in the Ohio Valley. Good luck guys. 9 second rides in the quarter do more like 150 plus..
I find it amusing that you said that if I am at a mid six in the 8th that there is no way that I can only turn a low 13 well I am here to tell you that it is doing just that just because a vehicle hooks well and accelerates well through the 8th does not mean that it is going to pull as hard for the second 8th and a 9 second ride does not have to be over 150 a buddy of mine owns a vega runs 9.70 at 142 I hope that you don't think that drag racing is a list of have to's and exact formula's it just doesn't work like that.
