I have an 89 250 4x4 that I am putting 86 F250 trans, x-fer case and motor in.
My question is, just looking at autozone site, the u-joints are different. Other than having mixed driveshafts built, do I have any alternatives.
Both trucks are diesel, reg cab 4x4. 89 had zf 5, 86 has t-19
Or if there is a link to someone who has done this.
Thanks
Dave
I've been studying these exact details to prepare a T19 setup that could be swapped in place of a ZF if needed. Get the pinion yoke from a 10.25" from a truck that had an automatic and swap it onto your 89's 10.25". Or, actually, your 86 rear axle would have the same part. Then you can use the 86 drive shaft.
Um, er, the above applies to a 2wd truck. It may or may not apply to 4wd trucks.
