I'm to the point where I'm mounting the cab back on my 77 Highboy and I have new rubber cab bushings which the previous owner purchased and thru in with the deal.
My question is, Do the thicker bushings go under the front of the cab or the rear? The one set has combined height of about 2 1/2" thick and have the numbers 4156 on the upper one and 4159 on the lower. Where the other set is about 2 1/8" with 4155 on the upper and 4160 on the lower. I don't know if these are factory ford bushing or aftermarket and I didn't get any instructions, just the new bushings and metal washers.
I'm guessing the thicker ones will go in under the front but, I thought I might outa ask my friends from this wonderful forum. Your input will be most appreciated.
Thank You Ted. I had the thicker ones under the front last night and it just looked like it was sitting up to high. I also noticed in the LMC catalog, their picture showed longer bolts in the back. I would rather a used the poly bushings but since I got new rubber ones for free, I guess I'll use them.
You know, the poly ones aren't quite as tall, so I am wondering if I will have problems with the front clip lining up. I have the truck all the way apart, so it was easier to get the bushings out, but I don't know how hard it will be to line everything up.
I think it will line up, because i replaced my core support bushings and they were alittle taller than the old ones and i got everything to line up good. The front clip has alot of "wiggle room" in it also so you can make things line up.
