does my 98 have pats?
Hey Guys.
I'm getting a compustar alarm installed on my 98 nascar.
I just need to know if this truck has PATS or not.
My installer said that some of the trucks had it and some didn't.
I know that I can cut a key from the hardware store and I don't have to program it, and my truck doesn't have the theft light on the dash.
Does anybody know if this one has PATS?
Reason I ask is he needs to order another module to bypass it for the alarm if i have one.

If you do not need to program the key, it doesn't have PATS. PATS is the system which uses a programmed chip in the key to start the engine. There is a theft light that blinks every few seconds when the truck is off if you have PATS.
