Just for the heck of it, do an oil and filter change. When you remove the filter, check to see if the filter tap is loose. I have had to tighten the tap on my '89 BII due to being loose. Sometimes they loosen from removing the filter. After changing the filter and checking the tap, run it for a few days to see if it has stopped.

Also check to make sure that any old filter gaskets aren't left behind on the base. I also have had that happen. The rubber gasket would pop out of the filter when removing it and would stay in place on the base.

i all ready did that and im shure there wasnt a old gasket on it when i put the last filter on because i did a rebuild on the engine and i remember cleaning all the gunk off of the tap and i cant get a wrench to the tap because the exhaust manifold is less than an 1/4 of an inch away from the bolt any suggestions???
