351w swap

i have a 89 that im puttin a 351w in. i was wondering if i had to use the wireharness from the 351, or can i use the one that is for the 302

no, you need a whole new harness. as well as other small items that wont match up. do a search on this topic in the search function toward the top of the page, you will find all the info you need for your swap.

well from what ive heard u can use the same harness, unless u decide to run a maf. but its not like its that hard to find one for a 351.

Ryan McCormick, webmaster of www.fordfuelinjection.com advises that you can use the 302 harness as they are identical except that the 351 doesn't use a couple of sensors that the 302 does so you can just block them off. You'll need the upper and lower intakes from the 351 as well as the fuel rail and flywheel. He says everything should bolt right up and is quite easy. I'm gearing up to do it myself.

Oh yeah...

Oh, and also the computer from the type of engine you are swapping to. (Also specify which trans.) There are several other vehicles which will work with 351s. Go to the site, it's a wealth of info.
