OK, I've been procrastinating about whether to get a chip or not. Next years tax return is burning a hole in my pocket already.
I've looked at all the chip advertisements...Predator, etc, and it looks like you have to fiddle with it all the time to keep it in the tune you want. Is this correct or does each of the different chips come with a set of instructions that the average Joe can read and learn pretty quick? I don't want something I have to constantly mess with to optimize mileage and performance. I'm kind of a "plug n play" type of guy as far as electronics go.
Also... it looks like you must run premium gas with all the chips to get any noticable difference. True or false?
I don't have a ton of money that I can do all I want to do. Eventually I'd like to add a set of dual exhaust and perhaps an aftermarket air intake, so I'd like to be real comfortable with any investment I make. If the horsepower/torque gains aren't a lot, I'm wondering if running the expensive premium is worth it.

No. Once you program it you leave it in that setting. No need to change it unless you want to play around.

You can't do anything with the chip other than install it. With the Diablo tuners, if you know about things like timing advance and air/fuel ratio you can play with that, but its only recommended for those who know what they are doing. If you don't, then use the standard tune it comes with or get a Superchips Microtuner.

Tuners are plug and play.

True. There are those who say they get a lot of difference with an 87 octane tune. What they are getting is a more sensitive throttle peddle, but very little power gain.
