I don't have a clue about what you are talking about........however I did scuba dive off......Hawaii.
I've done that to Mike. Four years ago right off the coast of Kona on the big island. It was fantastic, very good visability. The night diving with the manta rays sounded cool but I didn't get a chance to do that.
dcordle : No it was not an invention that I could claim as it was a practice that started in the late 30's around here as far as I know , back in the days of the first ice scoots with airplane engines on the back .
I do however have some relatives in Bay City Mi. that perfected the first sailing
ice boats . They now own West Systems and have designed and produced
many of the world class racing sail boats , one that brought the World Cup to the US a few years ago .
The wake surfing got started around our little chunk of The Great Lakes before most had a boat with enough horse power to pull a water skiier and all the work and traffic was done as a rule with locally built 25 to 35 foot pine plank work boats and taxi boats which create a beautiful deep wake that is long enough to support a couple of boards on each side .
Most family runabouts in this era were for the wealthy and were usually a
16' cedar strip with a 20 or 25 hp motor that it took 3 people to carry . The
Rolls modle had the deck , windshield and up front steering .
I went to the river yesterday and took the hardest hit i have ever taken. It was on the last run before i got back in the boat, so i was taking it easy. I went to do a simple sideslide, and the front edge caught and slamed me down. It was so fast and sudden that i did not have a chance to do anything to brace myself. So now i have a headacke that wount go away.

ooouuuuuuchhh
I have done that before, did s slide on the wake and something happened and I ended up directly behind the boat and caught that front edge, hit my head and got a concussion. Good thing I somehow landed face up cause I felt paralized for about 20 seconds.
I feel your pain man, I feel your pain
Holy crap, you better give him a big congrats
Thats freaking AWESOME
I did We drank some beers to celebrate. He works for a publishing company, that on top of a whole host of other mags, puts out Wakeboarding mag. He spends a lot of his off time at Orlando Watersports Complex. I think he still does most of the work on their website as well.
I think he will be taking a break for a while. He injured himself the other day wakeboarding. We had to go get a load of shingles and fencing (hurricane damage) for him the other night, and he could barely lift anything.
wakeboarding is pretty big down here - the lakes bout 20 mins away and the river 5 min got a mate who was really good - started getting offered pro deals - then poof!!! all gone - he got sick doc's can't work out why - loses balance falls ova he can't work can't wakeboard - theyv'e give him cat scans and epilepsy tests the next chase the docs are on is whether theres a pinched nerve in his neck from some of the slams he took. (wear a lid if your gonna try **** like cannon ***** and whirlibirds and other aerial stuff) hope they work out what it is - anyway he used to run a ski rope from the roof of his house to the tramp in the back yard so he could practice his tricks - strap board to feet and bounce intop flips etc. anyways best of luck to you guys who are taking it up
go hard or go home
