Compression help
I have a 77 F150 4x4 with a 400. Well couple wks ago the motor locked up
so now im rebuilding another 400 thats a 1971 for it. Well i have a compression question. The badger pistons i always thought were 9.1 but when i went and ordered them from performance warehouse it said that .030 over with stock heads that the ratio was 9.8:1. Is this the static ratio or what? Also since it seems like everyone on here has desktop dyno cept me What would my motor be putting out roughly? heres the specs.400 .030 over
Comp 255 DEH cams and lifters
Badger Flat top Pistons
Stock 1971 heads (are 71 heads different from other yrs? Also dont know if theyre milled any since im in college and dad is geting machine work done.)
Stock Manifolds dual exhaust
Edelbrock Intake
Holley Fuel injection
Thanks everyone
Dick
A thought: If your starter breaks at the nose piece support it will lock up everything. You might try turning the old engine with a socket it you haven't already.
