gauge adjustment/calibration
I just built/installed a solid state instrument voltage regulator for my 81 f250 (see inline six forum, "gauge malady"). I now need to adjust/calibrate my temp and oil pressure gauges and possibly my fuel gauge. How do I do this? I know there are adjustment provisions, but I do not know the procedure.
I have a complete set of 77 ford truck manuals; they indicate the existance of a procedure but don't describe one. Is there a manual for this purpose?

I would not think that adjusting the guages would be something they would pay a technician at the dealership to do. In other words, it would be cheaper to buy new guages rather than pay the technician to adjust them, and pay money for some sort of special gizmo to calibrate them with.
Can they be adjusted? I don't know, if they can it would probably be bending the needle or something obscure that they do at the factory.
If your guages are like mine in my 1980, I don't see why you would need to calibrate them anyway. Mine say "cold", "normal", "hot", or "low", "normal", "high", or "empty", "full". Mine don't have any numbers to calibrate to.
