2005 Order Problems?

Hi all- I recently ordered a New 350 CC 4x4 with the 6.0 PSD and for whatever reason I cannot seem to get a production date and or VIN assigned? Does anyone know if there are any equipment holds that are causing a delay in production? My dealer sales MGR. has trouble following up on things and returning phone calls. Any help would be appreciated.
BTW, the truck is a loaded Lariat with all options except the adjustable pedals and camper PKG. Thanks in advance.

There are some production issues with stuff they're actually building right now (two-tone paint, moonroof, power sliding rear window, trailer brake), but that shouldn't prevent your dealer from getting a production date. It can take 10 days-4 weeks to get a build date- when did you order the truck?

Hi Jeff- The truck was ordered back in the second week of August. I believe it was around the 12th or so. I did not order the two tone paint, but I do have the moonroof and power slider and upfitter switches. Guess I will keep my fingers crossed. Thanks.

Jeff, can you elaborate? I have an 05 F350 CC DRW on order with a moon roof, sliding rear window, and trailer brake as well. The last I heard it was only the standard wheels and cd players that were causing delays.

Minus the moonroof, 2-tone paint, and 7 days, we made the same orders. And imagine this, I still have no delivery date. Keep us posted and I'll do the same.

I got an e-mail last week stating that the items I listed above were on very short supply for vehicles actually being built this coming week. But it's a temporary situation, and only affects near-term production. If your truck was scheduled to be built this week, and you've ordered these items, it may take an extra week or two to build it.

Arc- Just checked my answering machine, sales mgr. states that there is a commodity production hold on the moonroof and the power sliding rear window. He did not give me any more info as to when it might go to production. He says he got the info. direct from factory???? Any one else have any info on this???? It seems a little early in production to already be having supply problems!!!

I ordered a F350 Lariat CC 4X4 6.0 Auto with just about every option except two tone paint and moonroof back on 07-05-04. I just this past week got a vin number and a build date of 09-20-04. I do not know what has been the reason for the long delay on my truck but the wait has not been fun. Some of the problem could be with my dealers standing in the pecking order. But I don't think so because they are a fairly large dealer or at least I thought so. Hopefully your wait won't be so long but just letting you know that it could be awhile.

I have an 04 with the moonroof AND the overhead consol thingy. I heard on the 05's that the info that is on the overhead consol is in the dash instead. This is from folks on The Diesel Stop that HAVE 05's.

Ordered a loaded lariat 250 on 7-26 and have a build date/week of tomorrow but no eta or rail car # yet. It has a vin and looks like it is to be built this week but I sure hate to read about a possible delay with the moonroof, trailer brake control and previously 18" wheels. Will let ya'll know what the dealers truck/vehicle status report says on Friday

My 05 350 Lariat has the overhead console but no moonroof. The overhead console is just a cubby hole to put stuff, a place for your sunglasses and a "clip" to hold papers. It is actually pretty nice.

The info center is in the dash between the Tach and Spedo guages.

We're delayed too

We ordered an '05 F250 CC Lariat 4x4 on August 9 and still don't have a production date. We were told first it was the power sliding rear window and the brake control, then the moonroof, and now the two-tone paint becuase the two-tone robot broke last week.

Our dealer keeps telling us he's trying to get it moved up, so we'll see this week. And our '01 is already traded in because of the great trade-in we got on it. Guess we'll be using the old '95 to tow our Airstream for trips this fall, as I don't think we'll be getting it any time before November at this point...

I don't suppose there is a site that one can type in their VIN # to find out the status of their build? Dealer has faxed me last thursdays vehicle/truck status report for the whole dealership but hate to bother him each week!
