OK, I was wondering if someone could help me out with obtaining the information I need What I need is
a) Wheelbase front to back. (distance between center of font axle to center of rear axle)
b) Wheelbase side to side using the outside walls of the tires. I need to know how wide the wheel base is
This is on a 91 F-150 Ext cab 4x4. I do not have either the truck nor the owners manual with me so I do not know of any other way to obtain this information.
Thankyou for any speedy answers you may be able to provide, Jimmy Dean
I don't have a 1991 book but I think that the 1987-1996 chassis were all the same. The 1996 owner's manual lists:
an extended cab short bed 4x4 F150 as 138.8" or 3526 mm wheelbase.
an extended cab long bed 4x4 F150 as 155" or 3937mm wheelbase.
Trying to get a trailer that's big enough to put your truck on? I couldn't find any data on track width for your year truck. I could give you a guestimate though. I can tell you that a 2003 F250SD with 265/75R16 tires has a track width of 79 inches. (Tire to tire.) The 2003 F150 with 235 tires has a track width of 78.3". I think the axle width are the same all the way back to 1983 for the Ford 8.8" and 10.25"/10.5" axles. The hub-to-hub dimensions of the 2003 Ford/Visteon 10.5" is 68.3". (Without brakes or wheels mounted.)
Maybe someone can go measure an actual F150 of the 1991 vintage?
ok thanks guys and yes trying to find a trailor. gueess I need to go with something that is 7 ft wide at least, and a good 12 feet long if I want the nose and tail to hand completely over...
