hi im interested in buying a f350 turbo diesel and im going to turn 16 soon and ive wanted this truck for awhile but havent had a chance to learn much about them...first off i have a limited budget of around $8000 to buy it with and wanted to know whats the best year out of the ones in my price range (i assume 94-97).....also my dad is a little weary about the mileage on the trucks of that year and in that price range and are they really reliable at the 120-240k mile range?? Lastly is there anything that I need to know thats bad about the 94-97 f350 turbo diesel ps. what are the specs on the 7.3 liter like hp/torque?

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to driving. For your price range you are correct about the years 94-97. These trucks are fantastic and will last forever. 120,000 miles is nothing if the truck has been maintained properly. The big things are look under the hood and pull out the air cleaner, check for dust in the intake tube with a white cloth, ask for maintanence records, if you can avoid a truck that has been lifted, as this puts a lot of strain on the entire drive train. Smell the tranny fluid, does it smell burnt? What color is it? Pink I hope. These are probably the big things, but remember you are buying a used truck and things do go wrong and wear out.
