Lund Moon Visor

Do any of you have a Lund Moon Visor? I have been looking at getting one but I heard they are disasterous to your gas milage and I was wondering if this is true. Any info appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeremy

first of all, what truck are you putting it on?

2nd..how could it be disastrous, have you seen the front end of a <97 ford truck? they are a big bricks with wheels, definitly not aerodynamic, unless ur traveling a TON i wouldnt wry about any SLIGHT difference a lil visor could make, i have one on my 95 bko and i get fine MPG, it also looks pretty good, and it looks great at night

I have heard people say that visors like that kill gas milage, but in all reallity it is very minimal. Besides 99.9% of the stuff we do to our trucks decreases fuel mileage, but we take the good with the bad ya know.

Not always do we do things to our trucks that decrease gas milage. I am getting right at 21 mph with the biggest engine you can put into an F150!!

Oh, and it runs really well too!!

Marks right, the last few mods have actually increased my milage. The programer and the fan kit as well ast the intake all have raised my milage to around 17 and 18mpg. Thats on a 4x4 with the 5.4.

Note: Milage may be reduced when truck is in the company of other RED trucks or if taken off the road.

Oh don't get me wrong, there are alot of mods that acctually help mileage like free flow exhaust, programers (if you can keep ur foot out of it) to name a few. I'm just saying Most of the stuff we do, like lift kits, large tires, and gears etc. Right now I'm getting 10 in town and 12 on the highway. It's crapy mileage but it is the price I pay for a truck. I have acctualy thought about swaping in a late model 460 FI, I would get about the same milage and better low end grunt.

one thing to keep in mind is that you'll be drilling holes in the cab. If you change your mind on wanting it then you have to pay to have the holes welded in and getting it prepped and painted. Take this one from experience, I had a lund racer back and the screws started stripping and coming out. I decided I wanted to take it off. Luckily, a friend welded the holes and primered it but know I have to find the cash to have it repainted.

Think about it long and hard. I've got a racerback if you are still interested in that.

Yes I would be interested in the racer back how much do you want for it? As for the moon visor I have put alot of thought in it and I don't know if I am going to go with that or not. But the good news I should be starting my dual exaust soon!!!

I just noticed you have a 99. Mine is a 98. Yours is four door mine is three. I'm not sure if it will work. You might check them out and see if it will work for yours. If it will I'll cut you a heck of a deal.

I just checked a couple of sites that sell them. They fit 97-98 and then 99-2003. So I think that means it won't fit.

Your more than welcome to it if you want to do some cutting. The only difference is the width of the drivers side panel. But it would be alot of work.

Sorry,
Jon
