My 1993 had both pwr windows started acting up. They will lower but will not go up with out a push of the hand. I've replaced the fuse/circuit breaker. The battery and charging system seem to be good. Is there an additional relay or some other item that is common to both I should check. Help ????
I just had my driver's side motor replaced for the same symptom. They cleaned the tracks/guides etc when they replaced it, and I swear that's what the actual problem was.
Its not the motor chief, its some little plastic things in the motor. i just replaced my driver side, its pretty easy. i got them from autozone. ask for the gear lift kit for power window. after that, take off the door panel then that plastic thing covering the door. remove the speaker. to get the motor out, theres 3 nuts/bolts holdin it on.1 of them you can see, the other 2 you have to drill holes for. look closely and you'll see 2 small dimples that indicate where to drill. after you get the motor out, take off the cover that it has. when you take this off, you'll notice a bunch of broken plastic pieces and a big gear. these pieces were actually 3 plastic things. just put in the new ones you bought and reinstall motor and thats it .
I've never had a Ford motor go bad it is always the synthetic cams inside the motor. Easy and cheap to replace. I got to give Ford credit it is designed to work forever but you will have to replace the cams inside. I usually get mine for free from Advance Auto Parts. I guess they figure I'm a good enough customer.
