rear bumper brackets

My friend has an 1882 bronco with a crushed rear bumper. It looks just like the bumper on a 1979 bonco in the junk yard. Its chrome, style side type, it is not a step bumper, will the 79 fit on the 82, they look them same as far as I can tell.

Have you measured the mounting points? I will venture a guess and say they wont, just due to the big redesign after the 1979 model year.

yes both 37 1/2 inches wide, my concern is bolt holes matching for the mounting brackets.
