How do you go about testing the fan clutch?
It seems as sometimes it kicks on as it should and other times not at all which is causing my truck to run hot, which in turn then I have almost no power at all,
Being that it is a 89 F250 with a 460 I should have more then enough power.
As it would have it it always seems to happen when I am coming home from the lake and pulling my boat.
with the engine OFF and the keys out of the ignition, try to spin the fan by hand. it should spin easy. if any resistance at all then the fan clutch needs replacing.
