so i am watching this show,MTV cribs, and they have a singer and a basket ball player showing there homes...these people have WAY WAY more money than they have brains. it is unbelieveable the amount of money they just through away. i mean i understand having alot of money, but this single singer has a caddy escalate,an MB SLK AMG, and her new prid and joy a landrover rangerover. why do you need a caddy escalante and a range rover in LA
For the same reason that if I won the lottery and had a 30 car garage built along side my new giant log home .... because I could. But I do agree that most of those basketball players, etc, have more money than brains ...fer sure.
If you had that kind of money you'd do the same thing. When you make $100 a week...25 bucks is expensive. If you make a million dollars a year...$100 is meaningless.
yea i would spend more money if i was a basketball player or won the lottery but i wouldn't go and buy 2 SUVs. especial a esclade and rangerover they are practically the samething sorta you know what i mean. i would probably have a pick up with a lot of accessories, a mustang all done up, and a if i had a family a family car.
I agree that these people get way to much money. Mike tyson how can he be in debt?
Cribs is funny b/c you see that no matter how much money you made on your last album or contract you can't buy class, most of thoise houses are tacky as heck and ridiculous.
There are a few houses that are "respectable".. but there are plenty that are flat out ridiculous. I guess with the amount of money these people make, they can pretty much do whatever they like. I think I'd rather have the money alone than be famous. Who needs the loss of personal freedom in public?
If I had that kind of money, I'd get a paint job for my truck.
Fatman,
I can't think of a more honest assessment! Lot's of money, yes. But no brains and certainly no class. The fleeting fifteen minutes of fame that these "celebrities" enjoy leaves them with a lot of wealth that would last an intelligent person a life time. But a majority of the nouveau rich waste their fortunes. By the time they are middle age and out of a job, there spending quickly surpasses their earning potential. How many famous people have you heard of going broke?

Very true.. spend all that money on "Bling bling" and sooner or later after the popularity is gone, you're outta cash.
I remember an episode of that show where one of the singer/rapper guys said, "this is my Bentley, it cost over $200,000. I don't know why it did, but all of the 'ballers' have one, so I got one."
My jaw is still on the ground from that one. I want a Bentley, but I know why I do. And the reputations (however good or bad it may be in your eyes) of cars like the MB, H2, Escalade have been ruined forever in my eyes.

Yeah as soon as something goes "bling bling" I don't want anything to do with it. I remember when Timberland boots were just a good pair of boots for camping... If I drink cristal and drive a bentley I can't help but have class right?
I've always purchased, and modified cars for some type of functionality. I really can't see the reasoning behind some of these stars mentalities. I guess I would proly splurge too, but owning more than one suv in LA, please.
Another thing is I always thought cognac was to be sipped while smoking a good cigar, but to my dismay I've found that the latest trend is to guzzle it like it was a tallboy. I know a couple of people that swear they have class cuz they bogart cognac, bourbons, etc. It really just makes them look stupid for not appreciating a good thing.
The sad thing is, our kids watch this crap on MTV and idolize theses idiots and aspire to be like them. The Media and these moronic uneducated "entertainers" and atheletes shove this crap in peoples faces. Thats why people are so materialistic nowadays. If an item doesnt have a "label" on it, nobody wants it. The whole purpose in life is to impress everyone else, "Hey look at me! Look what I have!"
As far as H2's, Escalades and the like, you couldnt give me one of those pieces of #*%!.
