Gas Filter
I'm looking into changing the gas filter on my 92 V-8 super cab. Some questions: Location, do i need a special tool to remove the locking rings and I have dual tanks any chance on separate filters. Thanks for the help

Should only be one filter, right under the drivers side of the cab on the frame rail. Depends on what kind of fittings you have whether you need special tools or not. My 90 just has plastic clips you pull out.

just did some work on my 94 w/ dual tanks... i did have to get a tool just go to a parts store and they'll know what u need... and its on the frame rail drivers side near the middle of the truck...theres only one filter

the gas filter is on the frame rail on the driver's side right at the front tank. it is a real b**ch to get at. need a special tool to unlock the fitting. i just take my truck to the local garage to get it done. much easier and faster. many times the spring unlock hangs up and the filter has to be cut off to get to the unlock mechanism. another one of ford's "better ideas".
