Tie rod ends?????
I have 98 f150 extended cab 4x4 4.6 v8...Broke the right side inner tie rod end!!! Broke at 60mph...I have owned truck since 20,000 miles I now have 90,000 miles..Mechanic says other 3 were fine...is this a freak thing or is this normal wear and tear??? He told me a 98 expidition was just in with same exact problem.. Not upset just curious.....Thanks ...

Ford has sent out a Customer Maintenance Notification regarding tie rod end inspection for all 97-2002 F150's, Expeditions, and Navigators,
That tells me that they are known weak spot and Ford is trying to cover their butts
and reduce the likelyhood of potentually dangerous failures such as yours.
