Just got back Sunday from 400+ mile round trip to NY. Yesterday I went to move my 98 4x4 EB and the right inner tie rod end broke. I heard a clunking in the front end the past couple of weeks and checked but didn't find anything wrong. I remember looking at the outer tie rod ends but not the inners. Thank God it didn't let loose while we were on the road. I replaced it and I'll have to get an alignment this week.

 

My right outer one just broke you can see my thread below. And yes I am glad to that it happened in my driveway and not doing 65 down the freeway.

 

If they are all original parts its a hint to replace them all NOW!

 

Yeah moomba. we're pretty lucky. And yes replacing the rest of them is probably a good idea and good peace of mind.
