Right now I have a 91 F250 with a 460. Basiclly all is stock, and I have it running to 1 muffler with dual outlets. The headers connect to a single cat, and the cat goes to the muffler. Is it possible to go to dual mufflers, and would it be wise for the money, or would I not notice a big power differnce, or would you suggest just going with a aftermarket Muffler? Would swapping this or swapping the headers, or a performance chip be the best bang for the buck?
Go with headers, and a true dual exhaust. This is what I have on my 460 and I like it very much. If you have any questions about it I will try to answer them.
Hey Kevin, on you're truck is the big flange right after the O2 sensor still on yer exaust system? It is still on my '90 but both sides are dual pipes. Looking at that I am gonna guess that is acts as an H or X pipe of sorts? Would I be wise in getting rid of it and just putting the O2 sensor in one of the pipes?
There is nothing left of the factory exhaust on my truck. I think that it is smart to have an H-pipe in front of the O2 sensor so that it gets a more accurate reading. Hope this helps.
