are your cables in good shape? I run a 800 ca 675 cca battery on mine. my advise would be to check the cables and get the starter tested.

ive had a lot of starter problems on the old trucks esp. when the rear main is leaking because of all the oil that runs into them and its hard on the electrical componets inside the starter id just replace or rebuild the starter
