Hi, I bought a 69 F250, serial shows the engine should be 360, but it doesn't match with the engine. The engine is a V8, holley 4bbl carb, mechanical fuel pump, valve covers are blue with "powered by ford" on them, oil filter screw on type not canaster, please let me know if there is a way of nailing down which engine is it. Thanks
360's had the screw on oil filter... If the intake manifold extends half way under your valve covers and the plugs are angled to the center ( \\ // ), then you have the 360 or a member of the FE engine family in there.
The oil filter screws on to the oil filter adapter which is bolted to the motor. The filter will be either mounted vertically (cars and 4x4's) or horizontally (trucks). It is located down low to the right of the fuel pump. Sorry, I know what you mean by canister filter, but can't say I've seen one on anything newer than 1960. If you still think we are on the wrong track, you will need to pull a few numbers off the motor, say the manifold or head casting numbers.
Hi, I think you're correct, the filter mounts horizontally, I have the airintake manifold numbers, I'll send it you later today, the cast number is either 501 or 105 depends on which direction you read it. Also I'm wondering about the carb being 4bbl Holley 4160. Thanks for your help
