Drag Time improvement

I'm just wondering what kind of 1/8 and even 1/4 mile time improvement can i expect from upgrading a 3:1 open rearend to a 3.25 posi, traction bars, new bfg radial ta's (the stinger radial gts tires are bald) open element k&N filter? I ran it for the first time on an 1/8 mile track and ended up with a 11.32 @ 75.4 mph, that was my best ET and mph, and that was with wheelspin for the 1/3 of the track (first run i spun the whole way down).

Anyway my truck is in my gallery and it has a 351W with 350 hp, a toploader wide ratio 4 sp, and weighs 3600lbs.

Are you sure about the 75MPH? I think that is about the speed I am getting in the 1/8th but I am running about 9.2 seconds. What was your 60 foot time?

I would try a set of 3.89, but this is a daily driver as well and the 3.25's will help keep the milage up and the rpms down on the highway.

my 60 foot time was 3.510, but the truck was still spinning well past the 60 foot mark

You are making a pretty good amount of power. 3.5 as absolutely horrid. Don't spin the tires. With street tires I don't even get all the way into it until I am well past the 60 foot mark. Work on your launch. The new BFGs will grip pretty good. You will probably still spin. Why 3.25s? 3.70s or 4.10s would be much better.

I just checked an old timeslip and on a run with skinny tires, 3.25 open diff and no traction bars I ran a 9.4@76MPH in the 1/8th and 14.6 @ 96 in the quarter. My 60 foot time was 2.3.

I would go with a higher gear but like i said i dive this truck regularly and i like the highway speeds and driveability. Plus the 3.25's will close the gap between 2 and 3rd as well as 3 and 4th. If I had an overdrive i would go for 3.70s or 4.10's but unforunatly i don't.

I can't even dump the clutch reving anything higher then 1300 rpm without spinning, but i think the mods could help me out (plus i already got the posi, just need axles), But once i get these mods (next few weeks) i will practice and hopefully i can get them 60 foot times down, cause once the truck hooks up in first it takes off, then 2nd gear is like a rocket (i did that 75mph in 2nd gear)
