Antenna
Can anyone tell me how to get to the antenna in a 97 explorer limited? My power antenna does not work and I think someone might have unhooked it(previous owner) because their is a black round antenna wire coming from that direction which I don't belive is suppose to be their.

I have fixed the problem of hooking the antenna up but now that its all plugged in and has power the antenna won't go up and down. I can here it turning and trying to go down but nothing happens. Can anyone help? Thanks.

My 98 xplorers antenna did the same thing. I could hear the motor running but it wouldnt go down.
I had to buy a new antenna mast at Ford for 34 bucks and replace it. The teeth get stripped on it. Now it works great. Gently pry off the the black plastic cover around the antenna base. Undo the screw and the whole antenna mast pulls out.
Search the site for replacing the antenna. If you have anymore questions write back.

Where did you get your antenna mast from? I'm not sure where to look. Did you look for the cheapest prices? I am really short on cash and I would like to fix this. So is it the mast I need or somthing else? What kind? I looked around a little bit and their are different sizes(lengths). Any help would be great. Thanks
