is the a4ld computer controled and what all vehicles & trucks,etc have a4ld trans. in them. can the bell housing be remove on the a4ld trans.

There is a very interesting site on the WEB that discusses the history of this transmission. I don't remember the URL, but the article was by Bauman and is titled, "A Brief History of Ford Transmission" (or something very close)

I was amazed to find out I had a Pinto transmission in my Explorer!!
