Who's affected by it? Who doesnt care? I myself have a 'boom car', the loud bass. I dont mind any noise during reasonable hours. But i've gotten pulled over a few times for 'loud music'. It's always like at 8:00am right before school...I dont know why people with loud exhaust dont get pulled over. Where i live, theres trucks that you can hear the muffler about a mile or 2 away. I think that if you pay for your equipment, you should be able to use it. Who agrees? Disagree?
Yep, just what I most enjoy, some dude pulling up beside me at 8 a.m. (or any time) with the dang thing boomin' so loud you can hear it a mile off. You should get a ticket if it's that loud.
You'll wake up deaf one morning, and wonder what the heck happened.
Personally, loud music drives me nuts. I don't care if it's country, rock or rap. If you can't listen to it at a decent level... please drive far away from me. I never have seemed to understand why it is that people have to have these stereos that are loud enough to broadcast sound to a full stadium of people. I know...it's a matter of choice. But..so is my choice to NOT have to listen to that noise while sitting at the stoplight and being nearly unable to even talk with my wife while the offender is sitting there acting as if he was born deaf. If people want to listen to their music, then listen to it...but be mindful that there are others who really don't care to listen to your choice of music....at ANY time of the day or night..and they shouldn't be forced to just because you have 67 speakers pointed in all directions. It's easy to complain about the loss of our own specific rights...but we need to remember that others also have rights too.
Exhaust and music are two different noises for me. With loud exhaust, its just that....loud. With the booming stereos, the damn fillings in my mouth start doing the mambo.
You wanna make yourself deaf...go right ahead. Just leave the rest of us alone. If the car making my dash/windows/butt rattle is the fifth one back from me, the music is entirely too loud. If the music coming from the apartment below/beside/above me is loud enough to make a milkshake without a blender, its too loud. My hearing is already damaged from lots of time on the firing range, yes I wear "ears" but even they don't keep out everything. I don't want someone with more dollars than sense, who poured more than the car is worth into a sound system, speeding my trip to deafness.
Well, if you're driving down the interstate, and want to blow your speakers out, go for it. When you're in a residential area, turn the darn thing down.
Sure, you like it, but do the other 300 people you're forcing to listen to it.
Loud pipes, never bothered me, within reason. You want to straight pipe a big block and sit in the parking lot revving it all night, then you're being obnoxious.
That's my take on it, anyway.
And, I have a loud system in my truck. I keep it to a minimum most of the time. Loud enough so I can enjoy it, not everyone else near me.
Motorcycles and boom box stereos at 3 AM are the worst. There are times I wish I could make a big boom myself and activate a mine in the street to take the morons out permanently. Maybe I should rig one up with a noise activated switch??? I could use one of those bogus car alarms and an electric eye to trigger it!!! Sounds like a good project for the evening. Maybe that is what some of those boxes are beside the road with those hoses stretched across the road...
Maybe in this case loud pipes will loose lives -hehe!
Jake brakes used inside a city on level ground are another pet peeve. There is a highway intersection about a mile from me and you can hear the truckers all night long. Some people just have no sense whatsoever.
Maybe the police could set out noise traps like the speed traps and stop light cameras. Use a noise sensor and trigger a camera to take pics of violators. Hmmm, sounds like an easy money making project. Make and sell the units to municipalities as a revenue enhancer!
Yeah Torque1st, the mine in the street would be kind of neat. LOL
I have been thinking about a high power radar. You are at a light and a car pulls up behind you with the body panels vibrating. You push a button and there is silence. As the light turns and you drive off, you notice the guy getting out of his car.....the entire car along with the boom box is dead.

what are these Jake brakes...i've seen heard of them...i think i even saw some 'No jake brakes' sign.
Anyways, maybe i should get rid of those subwoofers. It might be cuz im still young ( im 18 ) that i like dumb stuff like that. All these seem very good reasons not to have them.
The car stereo bass <!****es me off> is bad. It rattles things in my house... Keep in mind not everyone works or lives on the same schedule or shift. 9:00 in the morning might be someone elses 1:00 A.M.
I hope you get a 100 tickits. Go away with your boom boxes in your little car. You shake the windows in my house driving down the road 8 in the morning or 8 at night.
