The only problem I see to this is that it would disable ALL the cars within a certain distance. If someone is not expecting it to happen, it could cause an accident and innocent people could be injured or worse.

 

I crank mine up sometimes too... but NEVER such that the people in MY car, or the next car - or worse, the next house - are disturbed...

The operative word is the "Few" offenders will create problems for all with...
no changes from stock (like Maryland ??? is doing with the exhaust now)...

So therefore I have instituted my own self policing policy...
I ALWAYS pull up in the left lane and stay back a few cars... (more coverage if necessary)
I always shift into neutral to free up the rpms...
I ALWAYS leave my diesel predator in the 100 HP mode that can create tons of smoke...
When they pull up with their windows down and I can hear it over MY speech and my stereo...
it's amazing how many times I have to "clear the carbon" out of my right side exhaust right into their window !!!!!

They get angry and try to run away at the light, so i just play with them and keep them about tailpipe level

Mind you I rarely do this... only to those that NEED it

I noticed a week or so ago I had been sleeping better here at the rental house....
come to find out the 18 yr old next door is in the coast guard now and I can actually not worry about getting bounced out of bed in the middle of the night from his "stereo" !

Wonder how he passed the physical --- or is hearing no longer tested...

 

Easy--use a tesla coil--it will fry any and all electronics in a vehicle with a 100,000 volt jolt. All you gotta do is point it, and if it's a strong one, it will send an arc to the closest piece of metal on their car and fry everything in it, even the engine controls. You'll need a DC to AC power inverter, hook it into your cigarette lighter and a pretty large tesla coil gun, it will look like a big hair dryer, and get close enough for it to arc, or attach a wire to the tesla and shoot it at the vehicle, let it fry everything and go on about your business.

 

yeah, but with plastic cars now a days, you would almost have to be in the car for that to work. haha

 

Just add a penatrator tip, problem solved. Plus it will arc through plastic and paint--I've done it to old radios before.

Well, after consideration, today durnig school i was asking people if they wanted to buy my "stereo" system. I've only had it for like 3-4 months, its still pretty good. I got a nice offer of $250 . If i take that, i was thinking of putting a nice flowmaster on my truck. Should I, or should i stay away from noise makers...?

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one that recognizes and concludes these bad sounds comming from "some" vehicles must be caused by 8-track tapes. And it MUST be 8-track tapes; what else could sound so bad .

 

Flowmasters aren't really a super loud system....more
"throaty" than loud. As stated earlier..if you sit in a parking lot, doing nothing but revving the engine and getting it to snap-crackle-pop, then you're being obnoxious. I think you'd love the sound of a good exhaust system. Note .. I said good... loudness doesn't necessarily equal good as far as street driven vehicles go.

I've found over the years, that the guy with the worn out glass packs is usually fishing for attention or just can't afford to put a nice sound on his rig. The more experienced ear will hear more talent and quality than just "noise", with a good system.

And hey ... there's nothing wrong with listening to your tunes. We all have and had our teenage years and our own level of "noise" to someone else. Just think about how you would feel being forced to listen to something you considered to be obnoxious and rediculously loud. Keep yer stereo... just play it for you and your passengers .... not me and everyone around ya. You sound like a pretty sensible young man ... good luck on your truck and with your musical happiness.

 

Hah! an EMP would stop ONLY my stereo. The police will bow to the power of points!

Also someone suggested the idea of a "sound trap" ... the only reason I wouldn't like that is because my truck's stock exhaust system has a real short tailpipe and is fairly loud. That way I could get pulled over with my stereo even at a reasonable volume. >__<

 

i have a 79 bronco and i have 4 12" subs in the back and 2 1600watt amps. now when you look at all of it you kinda get the "what the hell" is all that for opinion, but i dont drive around all over in neighbor hoods and in close quaters blowing out windows and vibrating welds lose. its kinda one of those things that i may not need it but i have it just in case i wanna use it. when you pull up to a stop light and theres some lil so called trick honda or something sitiin there booming away they would never expect this big *** ugly old bronco to stall thier motor with sound. i just like the idea with fighting fire with fire. plus at the right level it gives a full sound to most music. there is a lot of underlying tones and sounds in music that you just cant hear with normal speakers. i like listing to music loud and at a resaonable level in full range, but not excessivaly and invadingly as some people do.

also i dont know how many of you are into bulding up stereo systems,but i am and just as a thought if you look around at the new ones out which evryone just has to have the nice stuff otherwise your a lughing stock, but most of them have remotes now. granted technically it would be illiegal because its an invasion, but youd have to get caught first, but find a universal remote for car stereos. then you can just lean over and hit the off button and theyed be a bit baffled prolly just long enough for the light to change or to elude the problem. im more attuned to finding a passive souloution versus blowing them up.
but thats just my two sence

 

i heard paul harvey one day talking about a judge that was sentencing sp? people stopped for playing radios to loud to three hours in his office listening to his favorite opera. he would not let them sleep, read, or do anything but listen. he said if they were gonna force their music on others then he would force his music on them. sounds like a really good idea to me. just wish i could do that sometimes myself at a red light. haha

 

Only issue with fighting loud with loud is now you too have hearing loss

I LIKE the remote idea just keep changing things on them...
they'll be breaking up their $5000 "stereo" trying to figure it out...

How about dropping a cyclic remote in the back of their car so it continues to do that when they leave ? Can that be done ?

I have noticed, at least around here they all have it cranked up (Boom, Boom, Boom) with the Windows down. So when I pull up to one of these JERKS,on the left, I just sit back and laugh Cause when the light turns GREEN.. I push the GO pedel down and let the PSD fill thir car with BLACK smoke.
