351W Rebuilt Advice
its an 1989 351Windsor fuel injection.
i need the truck for pulling, long distance, fairly decent fuel-milage and long reliability. i do not want to built a racetruck, but like to be able to go with about 70mph down the interstate, pulling a 30ft traveltrailer, (currently i go about 65 with no trailer, so my engine stays alive).
any ideas on what parts i should use ? what Cam ? rebuilding my fuelinjection or change to carb? different pistons ? head-mods? and so on... where to buy those parts inexpensive ? or where to find a longblock for my needs ?
any advice helps
thanks
stefan

I think you'd be very happy with a roller cam conversion, but it's a lot of parts to change. You'd use a reduced-base-circle cam and stock Ford roller lifters, spider, H-bars. A new gear on the distributor and some custom length pushrods.
Another thing to do is to swap in a 3.85" stroker crank. Use the original connecting rods and dished 302 pistons. With a .030 overbore, you'd get 393ci.
