I know this is probably in here but after doing a search and a few hours reading I couldn't find it so here it goes.
1990 Bronco. 302, fuel injection.
The dang fuel pump in the tank won't shut off. This is an intermittent problem. Just every now and then I turn the key off and it still runs.. and runs, and runs.
Do I need to replace it or is this a deeper problem?
you do not have to replace the fuel pump but you do have to replace the fuel pump relay. my bronco also did this . next time it wont stop running open the hood and on the driver side behind the air box you will see the eec test port and then you will see three relays. just tap on the one marked fuel pump and it should turn off. if so it is a cheap fix . the relay costs 13$.

I second this diagnosis. Mine does it once in a very great while so I just tap the relay and it stops. Usually it happens in winter, I think that it freezes. But I will replace it before this winter just to be sure.
Thanks for the help guys! I'll keep an eye on that and replace it tomorrow. I did exchange the ingnition switch on the steering column and it started right up and the fuel pump shuts down no problem.. It's probably all of the above the way this rig has been performing!!
