Did you look at the nuts and bolts in the "HELP" section of your auto parts store? Or maybe try a muffler shop, they replaced a stud in mine when I had some work done.
I have tried the (help) section I have bought 2 sets there neither one worked. I have not tried the muffler shop I am going to have some work done so I will give that a try thanks that helps
You can go to any hardward store and get grade-8 bolts for it.They look yellowish.. Make sure the upper bolts don't come out pass the threads or you may never get them out once the threads rust that are sticking out. Note stainless steel bolts are only grade-5.... my 2cents

find out which store in your area carries nuts and bolts, farmland ? farm and fleet ? defintly not walmart. the help sections of most part stores dont carry boltsw and nuts, keep looking you will find them, i get all mine at farmland.
any store that has a bolt selection would have studs, farmland store up here has a complete line of nuts and bolts in every grade and size. i replaced almost every bolt stud and nut for less then 2 dollars a pound, i think my entire engine bolt set all in grade 8 was about 4 bucks
sir69ford, threads are threads if there sticking out right in the open. I've seen alot of cracked exh-manifolds on the right side from that heat shield for the hot air pickup pipe. On trucks that pull a trailer or camper when in very warm weather. Some People remover or even drilled holes in them to cool it some trying to keep them from cracking. If you can try to use a graphite base lube on the threads, this will add to the ease the next time you have to remove them if you have to. You should check these about 8-10,000 miles to make sure there tight. this will help from burning out a exh-manifold gasket if your using them.. my 2cents

When I used to run FE engines I had a bad problem with the manifolds leaking and the bolts breaking off in the heads. I took my electric drill and bored the threads out of the heads and run a bolt all the way through and used a lock washer and nut on the back side. It seemed to cure all my problems and was much easier to deal with. I bought the yellow looking grade 8 hard ware from tractor supply company and paid probably 4 bucks. I think the reason people got confused is ordinarily studs are used to connect the lead pipe to the manifold and bolts are used to connect the manifold to the head. In sir 69's original post he asked about studs, so people naturaly assumed the bottom of the manifolds. For what it's worth, I don't think studs on the top are a very good idea because of the way that the bolts tend to get stuck. If you do go back with studs, use the anti sieze that was suggested.
