It Skips
The 390 in my 65 Galaxie seems to want to have a slight skip in the exhaust. Ive adjusted the timing , and it has new plugs and wires, and I cant find a vacum leak anywere. It has duels thru glasspacks and the right side seems to have a pretty noticable skip, and the left has a lil one. The way it normaly sounds is I can tell when every cylinder is hitting , but now in the mix there is a lil sputter/skip. Also I have a 600 Edel on it and its throttle response is pathetic, any ideas there? Other than the Carb everything else on it ,is factory, engine wise.

If you mean by skip a miss, and it is fairly noticeable then you might want to remove one plug wire at a time and see if it makes it noticeably worse or not. If it is coming from one cylinder when you pull that wire off it will not make as big of a difference as the other wires. That can isolate a cylinder if that is the problem. You still need to determine from that point if it's a wire, plug, valve, whatever.
