Has anyone experienced a high pitch humming noise when driving their truck. I have 2004 F-150 Lariat Crewcab. Whenever I get up to 45 MPH there is a humming noise whenever I touch the gas pedal. If I let off the gas petal the noise disapears It only does this if I'm going between 45 MPH and 54 MPH. The noise is very annoying and it drives me crazy.
Do a search for axle whine. I have it, already replaced the ring and pinon gears in rearend did not fix problem. Haven't had time yet to bring back to dealer . Other fix is changing rear end. Other members problems were fixed with just the ring and pinion gear changed. Good luck, take it to dealer.

How many miles did you have when you took notice and where was your truck built? My Lariat is not here yet but my wife's Expy has the same whine @ 55-65mph. it's at 8000 miles now but it started when it reached the 2500 mile mark and seems to be getting louder. waiting on my truck to get here so we can drop it off at the dealership .

Currently I have 4500 miles on it. I noticed it around 3500 miles. The truck was built in Kansas.
