Got my back adjusted today...

Been having some real agonizing pain in my back for quite a while now...went to my doctor and had thousands of dollars worth of tests ran to determine nothing was wrong with me...
Followed a coworker's advice and went to see her chiropractor today (first time I've been to one). $50 and 30 minutes later she had me sorted totally out. found out I have three cracked ribs that none of the other fancy doctors checked for, but showed up on her x-ray right away. She tweaked me just a little to relieve some pressure and then worked some pressure points and I'm actually able to even breathe normally again.
I guess this is a long way to ask how many of you guys and gals out there see a chiropractor and what you think of their service?

How did you happen to come up with 3 cracked ribs? Glad to hear that you are doing better.

3 cracked ribs and you didn't know it? wow! I mean they don't hurt like broken ribs do but still, you usually have a clue the problem exists.

Ribs are pretty flexable. I've had a rib out and didn't know it, the pain was in my back. Chiropractors are great for some things.

Glad to hear you to have found the answer. I visit my chiropractor almosty weekly for back and neck problems and have noticed that other health problems go away after treatment. If anyone is having pain, try it, it works.

I swear by chiropractors and even better I go to naturopaths and get acupuncture, its great and works well in conjunction with conventional medecine. Most of the time they actually listen to you so they have a better idea of how to help. My docotr never listens to me and it makes me mad b/c how can you help someone when you won't listen to the problem?

I had 2 herniated discs that chiropractic adjustment helped relieve the pressure on for 14 years. It was even helping when the one disc was failing, had ruptured, and was going down, kept it to a dull pinch until the disc totally failed. I still believe in chiropractic, had I taken better acre of myself, in regards to visiting more regular, I think I would have made it longer yet without the surgery I finally had after disc failure. I had quit going because I couldn't afford it, the bills were getting out in front of me, and I was working 2 jobs trying to keep up, but just didn't work, now I have no income so where did it get me? Had I been a regular for good alignment, it may have been different. I was going once every 3 months, and then started holding off as I couldn't keep up. At the end, I was going 3 times a week, but it was too late.

I started getting headaches really bad, three maybe four times a week. Went to the doctor, found nothing. I had a couple of migranes coupled with dizzy spells, my doctor sent me for a brain scan and all these othere tests that found nothing. Went to a chiropractor, found out nerves in my neck were being pressed from a whiplash i got 8 years ago in a car accident i never went to the doctor about. Started going 3 times a week, now down to once every 3 weeks for adjustment. Feel much better..

When I was younger, I went to a chiropractor quite often to fix my neck and lower back. Eventually got to the point where I didn't need to go anymore.
My neck does still slip out occasionally, but I can put it back in myself, while being very careful not to break my own neck.

I replaced the metal roof on a building a few years ago. I didn't pick up anything really heavy but did a lot of pushing and twisting around with the roof panels. I felt a little twinge in my back. The next day it took me half an hour to get out of bed. I was out of it. Finally went to a chiropractor, he used a electro-shock pulse generator. After a few visits, I went back to work. I do not want to repeat that again. I had to use a broomstick to hobble down the hallway.

I go about once a month. Started going about a year ago. Had super bad migrain, hands were going numb. Took about 2 weeks before I got all the feelings back in my hands. Yup I'm a believer!

I suffered whiplash as a child, and have been going to a chiropractor ever since. They can do great work, provided you find a reputable one. I have gone through a few over the years, and the one I have now is great. Also, you might want to look into some massage therapy to compliment it. With the adjustment of the back, any muscles that have been put out of place or stressed continually, will want to reset themselves to their old position. My mother is a massage therapist, so it has worked out great for me. You might want to check with your insurance, because some plans will actually cover a massage (if you do, do some research. not all therapists are the same).

I visit my chiropractor, weekly, and have since 1988.

Alot of DRs look at them as Witch Drs and such, I dont, what they do, WORKS!!!., I guess they get mad cause they are taking people away and they can pay that boat or BMW payment,
