I have a wrecked 1993 Explorer sport, need all front sheetmetal, bumper grill ,ect. i was told that a 1989 ranger is the same, does anybody know for sure? i can buy one cheap.
Sorry to inform you, but the Ranger and the Explorer are 2 different sizes. The Explorer is larger than a Ranger. The front ends may look the same, but the frame width of the Explorer is wider and if you look at the fenders you can tell that the fenders do not match. The Ranger will have an indented crease near the top and the Explorer has an out-dented crease in them and are more rounded. Don't go and buy that ranger. You will have a really weird looking explorer if you can even make the parts fit. However if the Ranger is a 4.0 Litre, you can use the mechanical parts like the rad and systems for the explorer.
