Any mods that directly cause a failure can void the warranty on that part of the truck.
For example, you install an aftermarket intake, but do not seal it properly and the engine sucks in a bunch of dirt. The warranty on the engine would probably be void. It also depends what dealer you go to for your repairs, some are more "mod friendly" than others.
Any modification is cause for warranty denial according to ford. If you modify the exhaust you have now voided warranty on all drivetrain components as well as the rest of the truck. ( thats what ford says). Is it done? Depends on your dealer.
well there was a national law passed saying that your warrenty can not be void for mods to your vehicle. its called the magnuson-moss warrenty-federal trade commision improvement act heres a link with details to it:
i am actually fighting with ford right now on that. if they cancel my warrenty there will be some you know what hitting the fan when i talk to a lawyer.

like i said earlier i am going through the same stuf with ford about a lowering kit i installed on my truck. i dont see how a lowering kit could affect the way my motor or trans operates. i could understant them not replaceing anything in the suspension but not the motor or trans.
I've heard of similar stuff from Ford. But remember they are a big company and they can sit in court for as long as you can. Its not right but its the truth. If their engineer or some tech can prove that the aftermarket caused a failure to another part......they will probably win. Probably hard to do with a suspension causing tranny problems but ya never know. They especially hate those tuners and chips for the diesels. Those engines don't come cheap ($13000)!!
Just as a side note, I've heard alot about rejection of warranty by Ford, not alot from the other two, maybe because I don't care. Just wondering if anyone has heard this from the other two or is it just Ford's claim to fame?
i have heard that ford is really strict on their warrenties. they are taking advantage of alot of people because most people do not know about the magnuson-moss law.
