Well, I'm the new guy in town and I'm bustin' my virginity with this post. I ran a few searches last night but really didn't find an answer I liked.
My Gear: '00 F-150 w/5.4L Triton 4WD
My Question: Is there a major difference between runnin' an intake or just throwin' in a high flow filter?
I will be upgrading the stock exhaust in the next month or so to a Flowmaster system, although not sure what model yet. (Lookin' to make it sound "Throaty" and give her a little more kick!) And a Diablo set up sounds like a must from what I've read.
So considering this info, am I better off with grabbing an intake kit off eBay? Or should I just slap in a Fram AirHog (or something similar) filter?
This is the first truck I've owned since I was 16 and am looking for someone to point this grasshopper into the right direction! Thanks!!!
I would suggest both an intake and high flow filter (comes together if you buy a kit, like K&N or Airraid). The factory intake looks huge, but if you look inside, there are bunch of chambers to keep the noise down. A nice big intake with a smooth curve works better, I think. I have pics in my gallery, if you want to take a look.
