V10 miss
I did more troubleshooting and removed the #6 & #7 coil connections (one at a time) to see what kind of codes were produced and got "Coil F Failure" and "Coil G Failure." Since this wasn't the same code as generated by my original problem, I decided to look at the injectors. When I removed the electrical connection to the #9 injector, no codes were generated. This puzzled me since I figured the computer should have picked up the inoperable injector. Maybe I didn't let it run long enough to find it. Hmmmmmm???
Well anyway, I reconnected the injector and restarted it. Lo and behold, the miss was gone. Hallelujah!
So what was the problem?????? Since the connector did not appear loose when I first removed it and having a clogged injector that just happened to unclog at the same time I was remaking the electrical connection would be a bit far fetched, I'm thinking a poor (corroded) electrical connection to the injector. I cleaned the other injector connections to be safe and have been driving trouble free for days now.
A word of advice: Coils & plugs may be the most common problem for misses, but do yourself a favor an give the injectors a quick glance. It may save you some time and frustration later on down the road.
