My '02 F-250 4x4 is currently running with a 6" lift and BFG 35's on stock rims. The factory rims weren't my choice, but it's how the truck came when I bought it, and the tires were brand new. Anyway, I've had the truck for a little over a year, and I was looking at getting new tires sometime next year (still have at least 50% tread left). However I've stumbled across a deal on new rims and tires, and it's too good to pass up. Anyway the rims are 16.5 x 10, and the tires are 38.5". I know there are quite a few people running 37's with the same size lift. I'm wondering if 38.5's will rub quite a bit, or if it will just be a close call.
If you are running 38.5's on a 6" lift, please chime in and let me know how well it's working out. If you are running 37's, let me know how close you are to rubbing. Thanks
In short no...They will be really close. I can make 36's (with a 6" lift) rub when i'm wheelin. Hitting a pot hole with those 38.5's would prolly send them into the fenders.
Pocket,
I'm running 37x12.50's (swamper ssr's) on a 16.5 rim w/ 6.5 inch lift and they do rub a bit but only when it's turned all the way left or right with some articulation. Other than that, they work alot better than my old set (36x14.50 pj's). The clamps on my front leaf springs are nice and polished from those pj's rubbing.
I can't see how 38's would work at all, wouldn't recommend it.
