95 F350 trans/engine problems
I have a 95 F350 crew dually that has been the best vehicle I've ever had. It has 180,000 miles on it an it has never had a problem until now. It was driving okay when it was parked for about 8 weeks while using a different vehicle for work. When I went to get it out of the barn it would barely run and the trans was not working well in drive (reverse seems okay). After plugs, wires cap and rotor and fuel filter it is not running any better. Removing the plugged catylitic converter did not help. Repairing a cracked vacuum line didn't help either. The motor will idle okay but quickly pressing the throttle causes the engine to miss badly and backfire also. Then there is the transmission. The OD light is blinking and forward travel is nearly nil. Shifting into reverse will move the truck okay, however if the load on the engine increases much it begins to miss and then cuts out. Any ideas?
