The power windows on both sides dont work at all and the power locks only work from the passenger side....is there a common relay for these??? the owners manual says the breaker for the windows is on the starter relay....I cant find it though....any help would be appreciated
I have the wiring diagram for an 85 if you want I can scan it and email it to you. It does show a 20 amp circuit breaker, it should be on a black/yellow wire and there's also a relay, but it doesn't say where it's located. The wire colors going into it are: black/yellow, black/green, blue/black, black, and pink/black.
I've got a similiar problem. My locks work though.
My drivers switches won't operate either window, and the passenger switch will only operate its window at a certain point on the switch, up or down.
Replace the switches, that's all that's wrong. They are the same in the aerostar, you only need to change the buttons, they just snap in. The driver side switch sends power to the passenger side, so if the drivers side fails then the passenger side will as well. If all else fails, fix the A/C and use it.
That's what I was thinking. I had tried to jump across in the back of the switch, and all I got was sparks and a hot jumper wire.
I'm heading to the wreckin yard tomorrow anyway to pick up a pair of wheels that match the ones on my van (I'm missing one and I'll get another for the spare).
