Exclamation 1997to1999 engine swap

Did an engine swap 1999 5.4 into 1997 with 4.6,and swaped complete wiring harness on engine and in dash and colum swap,But have slight problem do not have keys or tumbler. Donar truck was a theft recovery and the keys and tumbler were MIA. Used keys and tumbler out of 97 but as you know 97 did not have PATS.Does any one know how to bypass or disable SECURITY on 1999 f150.

I believe you need to take it to a dealer for them to program a key for your truck. If you had one of the origional keys, you could buy a key off of ebay and do it yourself, but without the key, I think a dealer has to do it.

It will probably cost about $100

Hope it works!

EDITED... just noticed you said you swapped all wiring and columb... as long as you use the hybrid electronic cluster (HEC) module from the donor you just need to get a couple keys programmed. If the pats transciever is missing of course you will need to replace that. Since you swapped ALL wiring that will be no problem. Just take the present key and have two pats keys cut to the same pattern. Then have a dealer or locksmith program them. Since it uses 1999 components it will require 2 programmed keys to program one yourself.
