Back again...wife went out to start truck, she said it made a noise, then started on the second try...the alt gauge thou kept swinging back and forth. After work the truck barely started, but this time the alt gauge stayed between the "m" and the "a", on the gauge. This morning she went out...nothing, no click, no nothing. came home to look at it, the noise is the sound of the buzzer dieing. So i assume she has a drain somewhere. Or the battery is toast........wont do anything....you turn the key..no clicking, but the tach does move a bit. Any ideas????

ps..the neg cable on the battery is on of those replacement clamp type connections, and the switch for the courtesy lights on one door is missing, if this helps.......
I would start with the battery. Have it tested. If it is good, charge it up. Then put a meter between the battery and the cable to see if you have a drain. If you do, pull the fuses one at a time to isolate which circuit the drain is in. Could also be the starter. I hate electrical problems. Good luck with it.
put the battery on the charger...when i put the meter to it after 6 hours...13 volts.....seems a bit low...have a feeling the battery is toast.
does it appear low to you???
Will be looking for cables...the dealer wants 90cdn just for the negitive cable...seems a bit steep to me....

Get yourself a test light and take off the positive side of the battery. Put the test light inbetween the battery and your positive cable. If the light doesn't come on that is good you are ok. If the light does come on you have a draw. Simply go to your fuses and pull and reinstall one by one until the light goes out. Once you have the culprit find out what it controls and hopefully it is an easy fix.
Anyway this works for any system on any 12 volt positive system.
