Some lady smacked me in the drivers side front pannel, =*(
I thought i had time and she was going to fast.
Front end bent over 3 or 4 inches.
Witnesses say (who were most likely friends) that she was goign t a reasonable speed. BS she moved my truck 15 feet and turned it sideways!
i just put new breaks in tune up and new tires! =*(
was she putting on her makeup at the time? or talking on the cell phone? or both? perhaps reaching over her shoulder to smack her kids in the back of the mini van? sorry bout the bad news...been there done that...mine was a college student chickie who failed to yield and merged into my lane and embedded herself into the side of my 93 ford supercab!!...what a way to start the day ( on my way to to work at 7am in the morning).....and the world keeps on a spinnin...lol..
My '92 F-150 got hit by a 7 series BMW by someone apparently paying no attention.
I heard this terrible crunching sound, stopped, got out, looked at my truck, and for the life of me could not tell where the beamer had hit me.
The entire front end of the beamer was crunched, i think they hit my rear tire. Since it wasn't my fault, i got back in my truck and drove away (after making sure everyone was alright, of course)
One time an old friend of mine was coming out of a sidestreet onto the main road. I guess she was trying to take a left, and there was a mustang coming from the left that was doing 80-90 in a 35...she saw it far away and thought she had pleanty of time...she pulls out and next thing she knows he's right up on her and SMASH.
She got blamed for causing the accident even though the toher guy was way over the speed limit.
35 mph can do a lot of damage. I keep even more of an eagle eye out in those speed zones because most people tend to relax too much thinking it is a completely safe speed. And if she wasn't speeding it sounds like she wasn't focused on her driving if she couldn't avoid hitting you. Also you can't believe anything people think they saw.
Once I had the brakes fail in an old dump truck, fully loaded with concrete chunks from a loading dock I just demo'd. I was driving (downhill naturally) toward an intersection and the light changed. I barreled right into the intersection just as traffic was pulling out. I sideswiped an older lady in a Citation and creamed the entire side of her car and spun her around. No one was hurt. Of course, it was technically my fault (boss's run down truck though).
The lady claimed she tried to avoid me but she didn't see me until she was spun around and pointing me. The tire marks proved that. Then she tried to get us to pay for her to be driven around in a limo until her car was fixed.
yea, she actually turned twards me instead of away from me, if she woulda went left 3 feet instead of right 3 feet my truck woulda been safe.
35 mph will not bend my front end over 4-6 inches, and bend i beams and tie rods and multipul other things. I've seen 35 MPH hits.
Pluss she moved my vehicle 15 feet while turning it sideways. FROM A DEAD STOP! A ford truck is light in the rear, not in the front! I got a lot of rubber on ground too with my new 31 10.5's, which one is trashed now, hopefully be replaced under warenty.
sounds like she did not want to avoid an accident and deliberately aimed for you with no braking. you pull out to go left but stop out on to the shoulder, she could have moved a little left but goes right for your door. i know, it's technically your fault, but that is what she's banking on. i know this sounds paranoid but i,ve been with someone whow actually does this, head for the fog line when he sees someone try to pull out and actually speed up. scared the you know what out off me. always mad at the world and wanted someone to pay for it. what's worse you can't prove it. How ever, glad you are OK. but tears for your truck.
I was backing out of my parking spot at work yesterday and some DS in a dodge pulled right up on my tail before I was out far enough, like he either wanted me to hit him or pull back in and let him go first. He wasn't even in my row when I started backing up.
I just stood my ground until he backed up enough to let me out.
At first I was concerned about my own driving because he was right there seemingly out of nowhere and I thought I had a laps in my attention. Then I remembered I just saw him in front of me. I have a pretty tight parking spot so it wasn't like I bolted out in front of him.
Maybe he wanted to get out from under his dodge and he knew my Ford would destroy his front end with little or no damage to me.
i dunno it could of done that i just saw a t-bone like that 2 days ago on the way to work a guy in a lowrider monte carlo hit an old guy at like 35-40 right in the driverside of his truck and he did a lot of circling.
Traffic collisions are funny that way. I saw a BMW hit an 80's or so dodge pick-up and the BMW spun around once, every door opened, ejected all the loose contents of the car and closed again. The ladies stuff was all over the place. I missed it by minutes but I asked the lady where all the stuff came from and she explained about the door thing.
Wierder yet the pick-up spun like 3 times and the driver was hauled off in serious condition. They were tagged right in the drivers door. The BMW was cruising through a red light and the dodge was pulling ahead.
I belive it can be fixed.
The cab is a little out of jar, but the front end needs to be redone pretty much,
not sure if frame is bent yet.
Gonna call a mechanic friend to come give his opinion.
The engine is so good in this truck for 150k miles on it, lots of power, i dont want to loose this truck.
Thinking about buying a cheepo 91 i saw for 1200, i can just fix the front end on this, then BAM the new front end goes on painted black!
damn. WTF was i thinking earlier when i thoughti needed new front end pannels.
