Im no good at this but,, I think I agree that Ford trucks are better and I tried to learn the language years ago, just with those tapes that you listen too. I drove a lot so I would put them in and talk to myself
Of course maybe you said I'm an idiot but thats ok too

Now I could be wrong......
Ebony + phonics
Ebony= Black
Phonics - as in hooked on phonics
Put it together and you get ebonics.
Haven't herd much about it in a few years, I remeber when they wanted to legitmize it, as a spoken language, people were up in arms.
RandyJ "quote"
we got something up here called Acadian..As far as I can figure out it is "franglais" - french/english
Le "hotdog" ..le "computer", etc..
It is definetly unique..
Now I know who's responsible for the Le Car!!!!!
Cape Breton is home to many Acadians, and to Fortress Louisbourg, the only French fortress I know of in North America..It cost the French gov't so much when the built in the 1700's that the French King (Louis 14th?)asked if he would see it out his window from Paris one day...
French is still spoken in many parts of NS - and although I am not French, I can say it is as much a culture as a language...went to a Acadian wddding once ..I think it went on for a week..Dancing, drinking, fiddling, repeat until exhausted..
They are great people and add to our culture. And I don't think the Scots threw them out..The Acadians had the best land here (since 1605?) and were looked at enviously by New Englander planters who put the heat on England...
..and surprise..guess who ended up with it...
Kicking them out was as much economic as political..but so much for this history lesson..some local lads did end up going down and scorching the "White House" (which led to the famous colour change) some years later but that is another story....
And I've been to Lousiana..can't say I saw much use of French there..someone told me the state govt' tried to get rid of the French language many years ago...I know some folks here are going down and teaching them again..
too bad.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
(I speak a little german but it's not very good).
I took 4 years of german in high school and passed 3 2/3 years. I spent 5 1/2 weeks in Cologne after my sophomore year. After all that I can still barely speak the language. I didn't realize the opportunity I had and squandered it. I can get the gist of what people say to me, but I reply really slowly.

Cologne is not far from Brussels: about 150 miles. Did you visit Belgium when you were in Cologne? What are yours feelings about Europe (people, food, way of life...)? Cologne is a beautiful city and Germany a beautiful country. I was soldier in Germany in years 1963 (with english, french and american soldiers...). I ride Ford trucks 4x4 when I was in the army...maybe it's the reason I drive now a Ford Truck: see my gallery to understand my passion for.
I must say though, it was a great thing to get up and eat lots of meat and cheese for breakfast and nobody thought I was nuts.

GOD! we missed in Brussels...let me know the next time you come and , with me, you will know Brussels better than some Belgians...
have nice Eastern
