My daughters truck won't start when it's colder than normal...about 45 in the morning or when it has been driven a lot (stop and go erands). Son-in-law says he's replaced the starter, cables, etc... It's now with one of our best small town auto shops and they just can't find anything wrong. Any suggestions other than get a new car?
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I wasn't clear on the problem. Fact is that it just flat won't turn over at all. They get dash lights but no starter reaction.
Ok , well that narrows it down some . Since the cables & starter were replaced try checking the starter solenoid for the problem . I would think most mechanics would focus in on that almost immediately .
Thanks for the help. Seems after replacing the soleinoid .. etal. Therer seems to be a wire from some kind of computer conection under the dash that they just cut. Hey, who knows? Small town, small town fixes. I think it sucks but I' just the dad.....
sounds like they cliped the ignition disable line either from an alarm or neutral cutout switch. I've had shorted cutout switches do that before. the only problem with that is now the car will start when its in gear.
