Windstar Steering Noise
I Have A 2000 Windstar And When You Turn The Wheel It Sounds Like The Struts Are Grinding Thru The Fenders. The Best I Can Tell Is That The Noise Is Coming Directly From The Struts. Is This Correct And Can It Be Corrected Without Replacing The Struts

Yes it can but the struts will need removed. If this noise is a grunting\popping noise at speeds below 20 mph, parking manuvers, etc, there is a bulletin out on this. You are supposed to install a spacer (2F2Z-18A027-BA) between strut assembly upper mounting bracket and strut tower. Then Align vehicle. This a bulletin for professional tech use only. You may want to have it done.

Do You Have The # And Specifics On The Tsb Because I Have A Good Friend In The Alignment Business(just In Case He Us Unaware Of The Fix). I Sure Don't Want To Take It To The Dealer. Don't Feel Like Refinancing To Pay For Repairs, Know What I Mean

The number is listed as 02-13-2 in ALLDATA. Don't know if that is the Ford #. You just get the parts by the # provided, remove struts, install on top of the strut mount then reinstall struts and align. See ya
