Can Navigator air struts be rebuilt??
Hey folks! Assuming that if my factory air suspension bags aren't leaking that I can just re-use them and replace the strut mount and strut itself, does anyone know of a service for rebuilding just our struts??? Was hoping to avoid spending around $1600 for new strut/bag combos for all for corners if I can somehow have the strut rebuilt, or buy a new/rebuilt strut (though I can't seem to find just the strut for sale anywhere). Thanks everyone!

Sorry alloro, I should have been more clear but I didn't mean a kit for me to rebuild my one.... just somewhere I can send them to be rebuilt, or somewhere I can buy just the front and rear struts without the bags.

Those folks carry a lot of air suspension parts. I went down a similar path on my 2005 Navigator. I needed a new driver side rear air bag. I was going cheap so I was planning to attempt to replace only the bag. The midwest salt ate everything up so bad I could not get the nut off the top of the strut. I finally threw in the towel and ordered a complete driver side rear air strut assembly from that vendor.
After a two week delay getting the correct part in the correct box I was VERY happy with the results. The new strut/airbag is very well made. They offer rebuilt OEM or brand new assemblies as well as bags and o-rings. Strangely I thought they had struts too........
Do yourself a favor...seriously consider complete assemblies. General rule of thumb is 10 years for an airbag before it needs replaced. Mine leaked but it was in a place I could never find with a spray bottle and soap. I highly suspect it could have been only the o-rings but I could not get everything apart due to the rust.

I guess I'll have to just get around to replacing the entire assemblies. Was just planning on doing a Hellwig front sway bar and Hellwig rear sway bar over the Winter after all the money in parts I just sunk into the engine and stereo system... should've just bought a lower mileage Gen III at this point lol.

Yeah, Arnott was another one I was going to bring up. I believe Unity and Suncore are merged or they have a very close working relationship.
Rockauto carries Motorcraft replacement rear shock absorbers (ASH975). They are a site sponsor.....FYI
I would still suggest to replace the air struts/shocks as an entire assembly given the age of our vehicles.
